We are looking for a candidate to assist the founder of Ethel Studio, a new sustainability-focused textile product design company based in Minneapolis. Our mission is to eliminate textile waste + promote positive well-being through our products.
This position plays an active role in the day-to-day operations of our company with responsibilities including:
Sorting fabric scraps by fiber type + color
Assist in aspects of the product finishing process: filling cushions, product labeling, packaging, etc.
Product fulfillment for e-commerce orders.
Maintain tidiness and organization of studio space
Assist in rescuing fabrics from local designers
Assist in transporting bags of fabric between our studio & other facilities.
Assist with product photography shoots

Have an interest in using recycled materials in your designs or artwork
Are independent, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and hard-working
Are organized and don’t mind doing some of the less-fun nitty gritty stuff that keep things going day-to-day.
Are looking for a glimpse into what it’s like to be a professional textile designer or business-owner / entrepreneur.
A basic understanding of textiles types (such as what is a knit vs. a woven fabric). We will provide further training for fabric sorting.
Are organized, punctual, and are ready to work hard.
Strong communication skills.
Can follow directions carefully + with great attention to details.
Knowledge of textile product or garment design is a plus!
Approx. 8 hrs/week to start with potential to increase to 16 hrs/week in the future. Option to have 2 half days or 1 full day per week - can vary by week with approval.
